SCARETACULAR 1
2018
Scaretacular 1. What can we say about this event? This was the launching point for what the festival has become today. Humble beginnings do not begin to describe this event. We didn't have a schedule, we didn't have a menu, it was just two guys looking to watch some Horror Films.
What Scaretacular afforded us was a vision. While we had an enjoyable time, we had no idea what we were doing, but we knew what we wanted it to become.
SCARETACULAR 2
2019
Scaretacular 2 was not without its growing pains, but still an event for the record books.
Due to some circumstances outside of our control, we convened at a new venue. The hosts were gracious, but thanks to a mix of a newborn and conflicting schedules all around, we didn't view as many films as we'd have liked.
I think the best way to describe it was, we tried to do too much, including group meals, games, and a mystery dinner party. We drifted too far from the spirit of what Scaretacular was meant to be. Movies.
The Board met and agreed, we would use this experience as a learning tool and we've come back stronger than ever.
SCARETACULAR 3
2020
Scaretacular 2020 was easily our best showing out of the first three years. We had our highest attendance of all time, six people at some point! We also had our lineup in place months in advance, which helped attendees plan their weekends and secure childcare when needed.
This was also the first year we had a set menu, which Emily put together with meticulous care and executed to perfection.
